Our Origin Story……

Once upon a time in New Orleans, amidst the street performers, fortune tellers and artists of the French Quarter two star crossed lovers came together. She was beading necklaces and selling her woven hats in the square. He was writing poems and busking on street corners. Through the busy crowded market their eyes met….

So began our legacy. Rooted in living a creative life full of family, art, music and travel. In the early years, we were young parents; wild, freaky artists with a bunch of beautiful, slightly feral, barefoot kids. In some ways, we’ve all grown up together.

We are like both town cat and country cat.  We lived the van life before there was #vanlife; making our way around the country, exploring and finding beautiful places in wild spaces and making friends along the way.  Sometimes we stayed for a while, making our home in eclectic off-grid housing situations: a treehouse in a redwood, a Quonset hut in Hawaii, an upcycled shack we built on the Gaviota Coast. We’ve also had our fair share of time living as city slickers in apartments and houses in Youngstown, Chapel Hill, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Texarkana (both sides of the Stateline).

You can hear our experiences from these places; the cultures, people, sounds, landscapes, infused in our songs. A laid-back West Coast rock vibe, blended with some bluesy southern heat and heartland americana blend to create highly approachable music. Overall, our music comes from a soulful place. They are our personal stories about our life, love, freedom, joy, mistakes, laughter, self-reflection and the worlds that surround us.
